All I want for Christmas!

So what do kids want for Christmas these days? Electronics? Game Boys? DSI’s?

How about the old fashioned – I WANT DRUMS. I WANT A PIANO. No – we all have those and it is truly becoming a lost art to Americans. Certain cultures still  DEMAND music lessons – but in Sugar Land, it doesn’t seem so. Most of my kids’ friends play sports OR sit around and play video games all the time. They don’t take music lessons.  But why not?

It is VERY EASY to find Sugar Land Music Lessons – even Sugar Land Drum Lessons. My kids LOVE going to Fort Bend Music Center. My friend from swimming, Debbie – her family owns Fort Bend Music Center it. What a GREAT Christmas for my littlest……DRUM LESSONS. Believe me, after listening to him on Debbie’s drum – he’d HAVE to have lessons before the drums could come into the house.

What about other musical instruments? I would love for all my children to play an instrument, especially the piano. My eldest seems to show interest in guitar lessons here in Sugar Land. My middle child, she would LOVE to take piano lessons, and the littlest……..well, drums are built for banging, so I think that suits in the best. Drum Lessons. For “the beast.” Ha!

Small Town Living in Texas

City of Meadows Place has such a great history. Located immediately on the outskirts of  Houston, Texas, this quaint little small town has recently been voted the safest city in Houston and surrounding areas. The shopping that is within reach is spectacular. You are minutes (20 with no traffic) from Houston’s own Galleria area. The closest city to Houston in Fort Bend County, third fastest growing county in the nation, is home to Sugar Land, Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, Stafford…..I could keep going. The new Town Center in Sugar Land is less than 5 minutes away from Meadows Place – has everything you could possibly want.

Small Town Meadows by Houston, Texas

Meadows Place is a small city located within the Houston–Sugar Land– metropolitan area in the great state of Texas. This quaint little “city” has a population around 5000 and according to recent publicity, Meadows Place is the safest city to live in Fort Bend County. Over 43% of all households have children  under 18 living in the house. How’s that for a “family town?”

Meadows broke off of Stafford, Texas’ ETJ prior to incorporation on November 14, 1983. Meadows changed it’s name to “Meadows Place” in 1997 due to issues with the postal system. Seems there is another town with a similar name, Meadow.

Charles Jessup is the current Mayor of Meadows Place and is doing a great job. He’s very “in to” making the Meadows Place a great place to live……..without living in a “big city.” Give it a drive by!

In the City of Meadows Place, community has always come first. Here, you can expect to find the best of both worlds – small town character and big city convenience. Discreetly nestled between Houston and Sugar Land, Texas the City of Meadows offers residents all the big city attractions within small town flair. With Fort Bend County being one of top 3 fastest growing counties in the nation, the City of Meadows Place has worked hard to stay focused on it’s own community.

With Charles Jessup as Mayor, at the helm, the City of Meadows enjoys visionary leadership and proactive planning. Back to the comment of “small town flair.” The city offers swim lessons, karate, tennis lessons and a good old fashioned “Movie Madness” at the city’s Community Center. In today’s world, this a great place to raise a family or retire. This city is even kind enough to lend it’s Community Center to the Southwest Houston Recreational Swim League for their organization meetings – thanks y’all!
